I have invited you into my life. I have asked you here to walk with me on my life journey. I have decided that for me to make a difference, in the world I need to share with you my life journey.
This page started because of the car accident that I was in on Jan 30, 2016. I was hit head on by a driver who was under the influence. I have links to the newspaper articles, and my story in my blog.
I have big ideas and plans for the future of this webpage, what has started out as a way to tell my story, an invitation to be apart of “my team”. I want this to grow, as I grow, the movement will grow…Thank you for stepping into my world and being apart of my team!!
I am the person, who despite my size, likes to stay active. Running / walking 5K’s, to using my Kick boxing target to burn off some calories. Taking long walks in nature, or a run around the neighborhood. January often finds me, taking a plunge into the cold waters of the Chesapeake Bay for the Special Olympics, during the polar bear plunge. You will even find me walking for a cause, Heart disease, Diabetes, or the March of Dimes. Before nursing school took up my days and nights, you would find me at an indoor pool swimming laps. Doing things to keep active, despite my size.
I am the person, who even if I have only $1.00 to my name and you need money I will give you $0.50 if that would help you. I am the shoulder that people lean on, the ear that needs to listen, the one who will cry with you, and the one who will find a solution to whatever problem you have. I am the one who can keep the secret. I am often called in to fix phone problems, computer issues and pretty much anything in between. I am different things’ to many people: the fixer, writer, counselor, educator, and sponsor… the list goes on…
For the past few years, my life has been about nursing school. I have lived and breathed nursing school. It consumes my days and nights. My graduation is set for December of 2016. My long term goals are to work as a postpartum nurse. I will attend American Public University for my BSN, and future plans to attain my MSN in nursing education. I have plans to work with organizations on educating the public of all ages on the dangers of driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence and driving while distracted.
I do not make excuses for myself, I do not let life setbacks hold me back. I look at the positive side of life and look at each setback as an opportunity to learn something.
I know what you are thinking… She has not mentioned Steve yet… Well, as most of you know, he is my entire world. We have been together since 1994. He was my high school sweetheart, and we were married in 2002. I do not do much of anything without him in mind. He is the reason that I push so hard, he is the reason that I force myself to get up each day and do the impossible. On days that I have been up for 26 plus hours between work and school he is the reason I am able to keep going. He is the reason that I make sure we have a roof over our heads, we have food to eat, and we have basic necessities to live. He is my best friend, my husband, my strength, my companion, my other half. He is the sunshine to my moonlight. I have other major players in my life, which are a part of my world; my parents (Susan and Jerry), my brother and his wife (Chris and Lisa) and my some of the best girlfriends anyone could ask for. I will be posting about each of them, and what special bit they bring to my world.
I love all things about mother nature, I believe in the power of the fairies. I believe that we all hold a bit of magic within ourselves, but we don’t always choose to use it. I believe in the power of Love, and friendship. I believe that family is more than those who share a blood bond.
My idea of a weekend night is spending it with my coworkers, taking care of the newest tiny humans and the new parents. I love to sit on the beach, early in the morning or late in the evening and listen to the sound of the ocean waves, the songs of the wind.
